Release Notes Q4 2023 - Product Update | Marvia

Written by Bram Schröder | Feb 1, "24

Welcome to Marvia's quarterly Release Notes, where we bring you the most exciting updates and enhancements on our platform. Keep on reading to discover the amazing updates we have for the new Admin and DAM, in this edition of the Release Notes.

Transition to new Admin ✅

In our previous changelog, we spoke about the new Admin going live and becoming the primary Admin. We can now add that we've officially said goodbye to the old Admin. All modules have been transitioned to their new (better) selves, everything runs faster and more efficiently, and the structure and modules are updated to better support our customers' future needs.

CMS 📄

We are excited to introduce a completely revamped Content Management System in the Admin.

Pages

The new Pages module combines the features of the old Navigation and Categories modules. This makes it easier for you to manage the content and navigation of your portal.

You can also edit your pages with more creativity and flexibility, as you can add and re-order elements as many times as you want. Whether you want to add text, collections, forms, or anything else, you can do it effortlessly with a few clicks and drag-and-drop actions.

Collections

We've launched Collections as a replacement for the previous Related Content module in both pages and categories within the old Admin. Collections are overviews of items, such as products, menu items, posts, and packages.

One of the biggest advantages is the ability to customize the order of items, whereas, in the previous related content module, the order of items remained fixed. Additionally, you can link the same collection to multiple pages, making adding content more efficient for admins.

Crop & resize assets in the DAM 🖼️

It's now possible to crop and resize images in the DAM. This offers easy control over how your assets look and fit in different formats and channels. It allows you to optimize assets for CDN delivery, ensuring faster loading times and a better user experience.

Meta Posts 📱

To offer more convenience and flexibility in managing your social media presence, we added the option to publish directly from your admin account to your users' Meta accounts with just a click of a button. You can either post on behalf of all connected pages or make a selection.

Other updates

  • DAM

We have made several smaller updates to our DAM. The categories can now be changed in the asset overview in the DAM. You also have the option to make certain categories of your DAM visible to external partners, creating a public DAM that they can access.

  • Template Studio

We've expanded the DNA options in the Template Studio. It is now possible to load information from multiple locations from the DNA into one template.

  • Unsaved changes

We all know how frustrating it is when you exit a page, only to find that you haven't saved something important. To combat this, we show a pop-up notification when you try to exit a page with unsaved changes.
