Stayokay
Background
For 90 years, local and international guests have been checking in at Stayokay for new adventures and experiences. With approximately 1 million overnight stays per year, Stayokay is the largest provider of budget accommodation in the Netherlands. Stayokay cooperates with Hostelling International; a network of more than 4,000 hostels worldwide.
Challenges
Stayokay consists of 20 hostels throughout the Netherlands that all want to communicate specific information with their guests. This can vary from new menus, a flyer on the elevator which is out of order or one that announces events. Hostels make these materials themselves, mainly in Word with Word-Art. They don't fit within the branding and the desired look of Stayokay. In some cases, the hostels had the posters designed by a designer, but this process was often slow and, moreover, costly.Wishes
- An online portal where branches can create both online and offline promotional materials within the Stayokay brand identity.
- An image bank where all valuable brand assets, such as logos and photography, can be centralized.
- Different user group rights for locations and external parties.
Results
In the Stayokay brand portal, we combine Digital Asset Management with Branded Templates. The image bank is filled with brand identity assets like logos and different imagery that differ from hostel interior and exterior images to images of hostel activities or food and beverage.
Now that the hostels are no longer dependent on a designer, they are more likely to make marketing materials. Each location can create their own marketing materials with a local message that is relevant for their guests. This is improving the brand visibility, the customer communications and increases sales at the local hostels.
